I love this “Secrets of Happy Couples” infographic from Happify.com because it sums up so much about happy relationships in one picture.ย
I also like it because it makes me think that anyone can have a happy marriage if they follow the guidelines (though admittedly it does have to be both of you making the effort.) Enjoy!
If you want to know more about the 5:1 rule, I talked about that in this article: The Five To One Relationship Secret
Over to you: Most of this infographic rings true for me, including things getting better once the kids are grown up (my youngest is 16.) What did you agree/disagree with? Please share in the comments below.
Aww, this is such a lovely post!
I still hope to find love!

Thanks Misty. It explains a lot to me as well. I swear my marriage has been more luck and instinct than any kind of knowing what to do/look for etc but now I am looking into this whole topic more and more I can see why it works.

Thanks Victoria. It’s good to know the kind of relationship you’re aiming for. We hear so much about divorce and couples splitting up that it feels good to focus on what is good and positive in so many marriages and long term relationships.

What a colourful infographic. I chuckled at the happiest couples have no kids bit – makes you wonder why anyone bothers having them doesn’t it?

Thanks Jan. If you thought about it logically and financially you probably wouldn’t have kids but there’s that emotional and biological thing going on that makes most of us desperate to have them and then desperate to find babysitters so we can have a break when we do ๐
