And Another Three Things…

Another in my series of little things that happened or occurred to me that are not big enough for full blog posts, based on an idea I read here

Three Little Things To Share

1

Writing Fiction

Instead of working on my latest book in the “Captivating Confidence” series (the current book I’m working on is all about confident flirting) – the plan for this week – I have been writing a short story that has been buzzing round my head. I’ve never written one before, except at school when we had to, so I’m not sure what that was about.

Can you say procrastination, maybe…?

Anyway I did enjoy it and those characters that came out of my head took on a life of their own, and started getting up to all kinds of shenanigans. It felt deliciously naughty, just like my secret chocolate eating habit.

Oops not so secret now , I suppose ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh No! It’s The End!

I felt a bit down on Thursday. Was there some personal or family catastrophe? Well, not unless you count my son deciding he failed the exam he took that day. I was a bit down about that anyway.

Then we watched the final recorded episode of “House Of Cards” #26 of 26 on Netflix and then I really was down. No more until 2015 they say? Aargh!

Hubby and I have a new habit of sitting down to watch one show together after dinner with our coffee and then I go back to my PC. We have worked our way through six series of the Big Bang Theory and now The House Of Cards since Christmas. But I don’t like it when they come to an end. And I don’t want to stop that evening time of getting together at all.

Luckily a friend recommended “Spiral” so we started that yesterday. It’s a gritty French detective/crime series with 40 episodes so that should keep us going for a bit. I just feel like I should understand it without the subtitles having lived in France for a bit, but I don’t catch everything.

If you have anything else to recommend, please share because I’ll be looking to have something lined up for the end of June or so ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice Guy

Writing blog posts about relationships makes me think a lot about my own.

I was writing yesterday about telling your husband why you love him, and I was thinking that one of the reasons I love my husband is because he is a genuinely nice, thoroughly decent, kind guy who is honest, hard-working, and looks after his family. And now his parents are old, he’s making sure they are alright too.

If that makes him sound a bit dull, he’s far from it – he’s also very sexy with a dry sense of humor and an eclectic set of interests. I never know what he’s going to delve into next.

He might blush if he reads this, but I don’t think he ever does read my blog, not that he ever mentions anyway, so I might have to follow my own advice and just tell him!

Over to you: What three things (or even one) occurred to you this week? Please share in the comments below

Try watching the series “Orange is the New Black” – that should keep you interested for a spell.

The partner and I love to do the same. We eat, sit down to watch the tv together and then I head up the computer to bang out some work! ๐Ÿ™‚ Funny how we share that in common.

I don’t eat much chocolate, but I do love the hard candies; sour apple being my favorite!

Thanks for sharing and for that suggestion Bonnie. I hadn’t heard of “Orange is the new Black” Apparently we are in good company with our viewing habits. I read a while back that royal couple Kate and William are fond of watching boxed sets on TV. I don’t think they get out to the movies much – apart from the occasional red carpet premiere ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been wanting to write fiction, but my head is full of facts! But will try when not so busy. We got a smart TV lately so been watching free movies on YouTube! Hubby falls asleep all the time though, so solo watching quite a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your comment Lily. I am usually the one who falls asleep in our house if there’s any falling asleep to be done. LOL In fact I fell asleep half way through the first episode of the House Of Cards and we had to rewatch it so I could catch up. I didn’t fall asleep in any of the other 25 episodes though so there must have been something about it that kept me awake. ๐Ÿ™‚

Really enjoyed all your 3 things! I’ve always toyed with the thought of writing a story. I even started putting down words once but it never got very far. Maybe it’s something I’ll consider again down the road. Good luck with your short story. And i know the feeling when a series ends! I haven’t see the house of cards but I’ll have to put it on a list of shows to watch. I enjoyed Suits, White Collar and right now we’re watching the Good Wife.

Thanks for your kind words and for those suggestions Salma. I’ll look them out. My story is still unfinished too. I’m not sure how to end it. I keep wondering what those characters would do in the situation they ended up in. I should have worked out the plot first I think but then the story just happened. Bit like real life then… ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for sharing your 3 things! I don’t know if you like syfy at all, but my husband and I were lost for weeks in the Battlestar Galactica series. It was an amazing series that at first I was sure I wouldn’t like cause…well, it’s all “space” and that wasn’t really my thing, but we loved it.

Sounds like you and your husband have a wonderful relationship – how wonderful that must be. I like the idea of the two of you watching a show after dinner. Quality time with a special person.
